Q+A

We’re beyond excited to spend time with you in the Southwest. We’ve worked to design this party in a way that feels authentic to our relationship and the way we want to share it with you all—our most treasured friends and family. One of the aspects of this weekend in Taos that is most important to us is that this is a *party*, which might feel different than a wedding. While we have chosen to incorporate celebratory elements into the event, our biggest wish is just to spend time with all of you in a beautiful place.

In the spirit of this party, on this page you will find information to help you prepare for the weekend. Everything is a suggestion! Our priority is that you’re comfortable and have fun 🫶

Where's the party?

The Stakeout at 101 Stake Out Dr, Ranchos De Taos, NM 87557

How do I get there?

We will provide transportation to and from The Stakeout, likely from one or more of the hotels we’ve partnered with. Expect more details about transportation to come, all of which will be posted here.

We strongly advise against taking your own car if you do not have a designated driver.

What's the weather like?

September in Taos is typically in the 70s during the day but can get down to the 40s at night. Pack layers, wear sunscreen, bring hats and sunglasses. Taos is the high desert at ~7,000 foot altitude so it’s possible you’ll be dehydrated more easily. Drink water and be cautious when imbibing.

Is the party going to be indoors or outdoors?

Both! Weather permitting, we will be able to meander between inside and out before, during, and after dinner. Chimineas and fire places outside will keep us warm once the sun goes down.

What should i wear?

This is a *party* 💋 Wear what makes you feel and look amazing. All colors, patterns, textures are in the table—even if that’s white and lacy! All we care about is that you feel great. We’ll be in festive party-ware and expect folks to channel both ‘high-desert comfort’ and ‘cocktail,’ but do you boo boos.

When selecting your outfit, consider the following scenarios:

  • You might get dusty

  • You might walk on gravel or rough terrain

  • You might sit by a fire

What’s on the menu?

We are working with a chef who will be preparing a seasonal menu based on what’s available from local farms. It will be family-style and it will be good.

Can you accommodate my food allergies or restrictions?

We got you covered. Reach out to us directly to let us know about you or anyone in your group’s dietary restrictions or allergies and we can 100% accommodate you.

Can I bring a date or plus one?

Unless they were specifically invited, probably not. If you think we missed something on our end, just reach out to us to confirm.

What about my kids?

TBQH we don’t know many kids. But if you have young children and are hoping to attend, please reach out to us directly to let us know your plans.

How do I RSVP and by when?

Please fill out this form by August 1.

I know this isn’t a wedding, but can I give you a gift?

Above all, we want to celebrate with you. If you would like to give us a gift, please contribute to our future fund.

Any health and safety measures I should know about?

Your health matters to us! Though we are comfortable throwing a party given where we are in the COVID-19 pandemic, we really do not want to host a super spreader event 😵‍💫 Please stay home if you’re sick (even if it’s not COVID) and we respectfully request all guests to be fully vaccinated.

As mentioned above, the elevation is no joke. Please take extra care of yourselves and what your bodies need at this altitude.

Where will any party updates be posted?

Here.

Do you have a party hashtag?

Emily is diametrically against this so if you have any creative ideas, take them up with Joel only.
